Buongiorno, can I speak to someone in the Benetton corporate social responsibility department?
They will ask what you are calling about.
I’m calling from[your organisation]and[your country]. I want to ask when Benetton will respond to a petition your company and CEO has been receiving concerning workers from the Leonarda factory in Croatia who made Benetton clothes for decades, but were left unpaid after Benetton withdrew production in late 2024. Despite repeated attempts to contact Benetton representatives the union has yet to receive a response. The workers are owed €50,000 which is a small amount for a global fashion brand but a huge sum for people who have been paid minimum wage and working unpaid overtime for many decades.
They will say they can’t connect you.
Please will you pass on the message that the workers are waiting for a response and we expect to hear from Benetton about how they can act to ensure the workers who made your clothes receive the severance pay they are owed?
See if they say yes/no
Benetton needs to respond to the petition being sent to your CEO and staff. They should get back to Deborah Lucchetti at the Campagna Abiti Puliti. Would you like an email address?
If they say yes – deb@cleanclothes.org
Thank them for their time. Then end the call.
